Know before you owe

See the whole cost, before anyone asks for a signature

Most people find out what a loan really costs after they have already committed. Set the amount and the period, enter the rate you were quoted, and see the monthly instalment, the total, and how much of it is the cost of credit.

Enter the rate your loan officer quoted you. We deliberately do not fill one in — a rate on a marketing page is not a rate you have been offered.

Shape the loan

Set the amount and the period, then enter the rate you were quoted.

RWF 600,000

Ask your loan officer. We do not fill this in.

Indicative monthly instalment

Enter the rate you were quoted

Your loan officer gives you this figure. Once it is in, you will see the monthly instalment, the total you repay, and how much of it is the cost of credit.

How it works

Five steps, start to finish

The same process whether you begin in a branch or on your phone.

  1. Step 1: Apply

Start in the app or at any of our five service points with your ID and the details of what you need.

  2. Step 2: We assess

We look at your repayment capacity and the purpose of the loan, then come back to you with a decision.

  3. Step 3: You sign

Your offer and amortisation schedule spell out every figure — amount, interest, fees, insurance, dates.

  4. Step 4: We disburse

Approved funds are sent to your mobile money account, so you can use them the same day.

  5. Step 5: You repay

Pay each instalment from your phone on *182*4*3# or in the app, and watch the balance come down.

Questions

What people ask us first

What do I need to become a customer?

Your ID, proof of address and our account form. Registered businesses and cooperatives also bring their registry documents and the list of signatories. Any branch will give you the full checklist.

Can I open an account online?

You can start the process digitally. Some steps still have to be completed in person because the regulator requires them — we will tell you exactly which ones before you travel.

How do I know what a loan will really cost me?

Every figure that binds you is on your signed offer and amortisation schedule — amount, interest, fees, insurance and dates. Anything on this website is an illustration, never a quote.

I do not have a smartphone. Can I still bank with you?

Yes. *182*4*3# works on any handset with no internet connection at all — balances, transfers, repayments and a mini statement. Mobile banking and eKash are there if you do have a smartphone, and every service is available at a counter either way.

What happens if I miss a repayment?

Tell us before the date if you can — the earlier we know, the more options there are. Penalties apply only after the grace window set out in your agreement, and any notice you receive will reference the terms you signed rather than new ones.
